Robert Farrell: Student Testimonials

Just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed the course, and I wanted to put my name down for the second course in January. Let me know if it's still going to be held and what the start date is.
Thanks again - you're a great teacher!
   Kathy

Both Dave & I want to see Robert. Unfortunately, we may not be able to make it in on the 5th because Dave is involved in a maple boil (sap waits for no man, don't you know!!).
So my question to you is this: any other local dates coming up in the near future??
Also, Dave really enjoyed his lessons with Robert. Please pass on my thanks to Bob.
   Paula

I booked my final gift certificate lesson w Bob today for 2 weeks from today, Nov.18th @ 2 pm.
I really enjoyed my lesson today.
What would Bob charge for lessons for both my brother and I simultaneously, hourly ?
I enjoyed my first of 3 lessons with Bob, and we are scheduled to meet again·

I noticed in the 'Fall Learning Magazine' that you will be teaching a Blues Guitar course. What are the pre-requisites for the sessions and what will you be teaching?
Thanks for your time,
   Ron

Christmas is coming & I've been trying to come up with that special gift for my husband. He's been playing guitar for years & started taking lessons·, but I thought getting a different viewpoint for a couple of lessons might be the thing for him. Now I just need to know if that's possible. Are you willing/interested in providing me with a gift certificate for 2 lessons? If yes, what do we need to do to get this queued up in time for the holidays?
Regards
   Paula

Good day
I took a few group lessons with you at the high school last winter.
I'd like to try a few personal lessons
Let me know how much and when you're available
Thanks
   Pete

As discussed last night, could you fax me the end of Classical Gas to my work fax at · Please send me an e-mail as you fax it so I can look for it.
Thanks, and thanks again for a fun guitar class.
   Nicole

I took your level 1 guitar lessons last fall and really enjoyed it. I would like to take level 2 this season. I was wondering which day it starts and when I can register.
Thanks,
   Nicole

I like what you've done to your site. I'm going to check those tabs out. I've been somewhat busy and not had a lot of time for the guitar. I should make time. Looks like you've been very busy and are doing well.
   Mike

Dear Robert, saw your ad in the paper. I am looking for the right teacher who can give me a step by step approach on how to play lead guitar, rock chords and to play some blues. Please give me a call at ...
Thanks
   Max

Sorry to have missed the last three classes of the blues course (including tonight, which I believe is the final class). If you could fax me the riffs we were working on in those classes that would be great. Thanks for your help!
   Ryan

I dont know if you remember me, but you used to teach me guitar back in 1997. Back then you were known as ... Thats awesome that you made it big. I hope the best for you and your band. I still listen to the CD you gave me, "Freedom For Your Soul". Thanks.
   Lyle

Hope you're doing well. I just wanted to wish you·a very merry christmas and happy new year. Its been a very busy and hectic 6 months for me but I'll get a bit of a break over the holidays---whew! Thanks for responding so quickly. Specific wording for the lessons can include the following:
Enjoy two hour long guitar lessons with Robert Farrell, one of Canada's top performing and recording guitarists. Robert, who is classically trained, will come to your home and teach you in the style you want: rock, blues, folk or classical. His years of teaching everyone from children to seniors, give him the experience and insight to shape the lessons based on what you need to learn, and what you want to play.

Much to my chagrine, I am yet again having to miss my class due to work commitments. I hope you get this before this evenings class. I very much look forward to the next class...God willing!

P.S. I love the web site. Very classy.

I am a student in your Tuesday evening classes at Laurentian High School in Ottawa.
You suggested that I contact you through your web site to find out where I can go to buy myself a new guitar. Well, here I am. I would like to practice outside of class but am missing a key item - a guitar !
Where should I go ? What should I pay ( considering that I am a beginner but plan to stick with this over the long haul.)
Thanks
   Jim

Anything happening with the group lessons we talked about? I'd really like to get together with you, even if it's just for one lesson, if you are available. I've been keeping Thursdays open just in case. If you aren't able to run the group lesson or do the private thing, just let me know and I will quit bugging you. I'd just rather pay you than the·Centre!

I am responding to your ad in April 9th's Ottawa Citizen. I have been searching for some guitar lessons, but have found no one who teaches electric guitar. I was curious if you taught it, and would like you to respond. By the way, I like the setup of your website. Very easy to follow.

Great article in the Ottawa Citizen! I can't wait until Sun House Fury is out. I am happy to report that my guitar playing has improved tremendously since I started last year.. It was a great summer of bon-fire songs and folk tunes! Thanks for giving me a great kick start. Good luck Friday night. We are unable to attend the Bayou gig but we will look for your next one via the web site.
Cheers :)
   Kirsten

I am interested in guitar lessons. Where do you teach? What times would be available? I am sixteen years old and know a few chords, having just bought a guitar this year. My former English teacher, · recommended you. We live in Manotick.
Thank you.
   Nathan

I'm sorry I couldn't stay for the whole show, you and your band were absolutely fantastic. I'll be calling you sometime in January to talk about private lessons - I think I may do that instead of taking the class. Have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year!
   Kathy

I work with ·He is currently receiving guitar lessons from Robert. I would like to know if you sell gift certificates for one-on-one guitar lessons. I would like to purchase these for my husband. I would like to buy $125 or around there worth of gift certificates. Please let me know if this is available and how the lessons would work out and where they take place. Thanks very much for your time.
   Erin

I am looking for a good guitar teacher for my son who is turning 5 in the fall. We live at Beacon Hill North in Ottawa. I wonder if he can learn guitar with you. Your consideration will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
   Dawn

I was a student in your Tuesday evening class and you mentioned if we gave you our fax number you would send us part three of Classical Gas. My fax is· I enjoyed the class very much and would like to progress further with the guitar. What do you charge for private lessons and what kind of schedule do you usually follow? Thanks for everything,
   Dave

Just wondering if you could provide the appropriate chords and strumming to Dave Mathew's - Crash Into Me at our Wed. class. Both ·and I would like to get the basics of the notes and strumming down. Appreciate anything you can provide. Thanks.
   Dan

Let me begin by telling you how much the girls enjoy their lessons and how especially Cierra feels she is making progress. A friend of mine would like Robert to teach his son and would like Robert to call him a.s.a.p.
   Carolyn

I saw your ad in the Citizen and thought that I should contact you. I am retired and have been trying to learn the guitar for a while now. I have a good knowledge of the chords in the various positions(that includes bar chords). I have learned various strumming styles for accompanying various folk tunes as well of several Beatles tunes. I have also done a little fingerpicking. Now, I am wondering whether you could help me; I would dearly like to get beyond where I am at right now. I would especially like to learn to solo in the blues scale. In other words, I would like to get to the point where I could improvise using the Pentatonic scale·
   Bren

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your show at the Bayou. Am now listening to Autoloader and am very impressed. Good work · As to the lessons in the fall, want to thank you for those. Working on the scales and stuff. A good inspiration. Wife (best/worst critic) says there has been good improvement, and jamming buddies wondered where I had picked up the licks.
